After the annual meeting, the Board has a ‘mini’ meeting to solidify the new Board positions.  Linda Williamson volunteered to be our Secretary taking over from Barb Weirich who had completed her term of service. Catherine Snider, who has been an exceptional Treasurer for 2 years, has moved up to President of the Board.

Practitioner Corner

As I was contemplating writing something for the month of February, often associated with Valentine’s Day, I wanted to write something more than a pithy description of what Valentine’s Day’s history has been, or the various definitions of love.

 I, myself, had had a couple days of heartache and reflection following a family member’s moderately upsetting remarks. So I started doing a Kundalini meditation practice along with my regular practice, of connecting with my heart, my inner wisdom and communicating only with love and compassion in my heart, thought and speech.

Join us for the potluck after the service.  This is a great time to enjoy the community and get to know each other better.  Stay even if you don't bring food. We always have enough!


First Wednesday Meditation for Peace
March 7, 6:30 pm


Join us for our monthly meditation for peace. The meditations take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Center for 45 minutes. Practitioner Jim Babcock will lead this meditation.

CSLBV February Outreach
Feb 25th is the last day
OUR Center is a non-profit in Longmont that assists individuals and families in need of food, resources and vital life-long skills to enable self-sufficiency.

They are in need of wheeled suitcases so that their clients can carry the food bank items on the bus.  We are also collecting RTD bus passes. 
CSL Boulder Valley March Outreach
Donations to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless help to provide clean, comfortable shelter for their residents. The Shelter attempts to provide an array of personal care items as a means for clients to regain and maintain dignity, and as a necessity for those who, in finding their way to an independent and productive life, are employed or are seeking employment.
Most Needed Items
 
Toiletries:
Travel size toiletries (especially shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bath soap and deodorant) Also useful: hand sanitizer, disposable razors, shaving cream, Kleenex, Q-tips, sunblock, ChapStick, combs, lotion, earplugs and reading glasses
 
Over the Counter Medications (new):
Ibuprofen, Tylenol, aspirin (daytime and p.m. types), Benadryl, cough drops/cough syrup/cold & allergy medicine (without alcohol), Pepto-Bismol, vitamins (multi, C, E, fish oil), nasal strips, band aids, antacid, antibiotic ointment and aloe
 
Staying Warm:
Sleeping bags
Camping equipment: sleeping pads, tents, large backpacks
Hats & gloves (warm, winter), socks (long, winter), large-size winter jackets, winter boots (adult sizes)  Due to very limited storage space, the Shelter accepts only good quality, adult-sized (large and extra-large) winter outerwear (coats, socks, hats, gloves).
 
Linens:
Bath towels, wash cloths, twin-size cotton blankets
