The pastures are golden brown, our Gravenstein orchard is flourishing, and there is more rain in the forecast - it's officially Fall here in Tomales! Fall is a time of transition and preparation on the farm. We work diligently together to ready the animals and structures for both the rainy Winter and productive Spring seasons ahead.
Along with transitions for the animals, this Fall has also brought us a shift in our staff. We are excited to welcome Hannah Schaefer to the farm team as the new Herd Manager! Hannah comes to us from our neighbor to the north, Cypress Grove. Former Herd Manager, Tristan Brenner, will be going back to school and consulting with the farm on a weekly basis. We are proud of our strong crew both on the farm and in the creamery!
Another exciting addition to the farm is Molly Steim's thriving vegetable production. Molly has spent the last few months working hard in the raised beds and new greenhouse and has grown beautiful produce, which is now on the menu at The Western in Nicasio! We are lucky to have Molly and her green thumb on the farm!
