Interprofessional Mini-Course on Global Health
Winter Term 2017.  Mini-courses offer students an opportunity for interprofessional learning outside of their program curriculum. This 9-hour mini-course will look at these different settings.  We will use case studies to examine global health in an interprofessional environment.
Call for Applications: Queen Elizabeth Scholars
Applications Due: Jan. 27, 2017.  The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholars program offers opportunities for Senior undergraduate and Graduate students. We are now accepting applications to work with our partners in Tanzania.
Dal Med Class of '72 Global Health Education Bursary
Applications Due: Jan. 30, 2017.   The MD Class of 1972 have established an Endowment Fund with the Global Health Office to provide bursaries to fourth-year medical student to pursue an international education experience.
2017 Global Health Awards
Nominations Due: March 5, 2017. These awards recognize an outstanding contribution to the global health community at Dalhousie through: demonstrated leadership in global health; work experience with marginalized communities; engagement in global health research; mentorship in global health; promotion, development and enhancement of global health at Dalhousie.
2017 Global Health Photo Contest
Submissions Due: March 5, 2017. The theme for 2017 is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Do you have outstanding photos that tell a compelling story about your global health experience?  Each year the global health office at Dalhousie hosts the Global Health Photo Contest to recognize these beautiful images and inspiring stories.

Global Health Blog Highlight

Student Spotlight: Indigenous Health:  Brent Young is currently enrolled at the Dalhousie Medical School (class of 2019) and he is the student representative on the Faculty of Medicine’s Indigenous Working Group, which advises the Faculty’s Indigenous Program Manager on Indigenous issues.  I recently sat down with Brent to talk about his journey towards becoming a doctor.
