Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International Competitions 2021 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through a demand driven process for organisations such as schools and community groups with funds to help young Australians take part in:

  • in-person and virtual STEM engagement events, activities and competitions in Australia and New Zealand (where permitted by COVID-19 restrictions)
  • virtual STEM engagement events, activities and competitions activities and competitions overseas (student/s to participate remotely from Australia).

The Prime Minister's Prizes for Science - Science Teaching Prize 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process for the Prime Minister’s Prizes for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools, awarded for excellence in teaching.

Festivals Australia 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process to support individual art projects at festivals or significant one-off community events, such as a town’s centenary celebration or opening of a major new community resource.

Local Sporting Champions

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.  If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.

Building Better Regions Fund - Infrastructure Projects Stream 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process for Round 5 of The Infrastructure Projects Stream which supports projects that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas with $100 million dedicated towards tourism-related infrastructure projects.

Building Better Regions Fund - Community Investments Stream 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process for Round 5 of The Community Investments Stream to fund new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, or leadership and capability strengthening activities with $100 million dedicated to tourism-related infrastructure projects.

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process to apply for grant funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program, designed to preserve Australia’s wartime heritage; involve people around the country in a wide range of projects and activities that highlight the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel in wars, conflicts and peace operations; and promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service and the roles that those who served have played in shaping the nation.

2021 NAIDOC Local Grants 

The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open competitive process to support activities during NAIDOC Week 2021 (4-11 July) that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions to our country and society.  This grant round provides funding to organisations to contribute to the costs of local and regional NAIDOC activities across Australia.

Surf Club Facility Program

The NSW Government is inviting applications to apply for grant funding to assist eligible Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout NSW to develop facilities that will enable increased facility usage, improve safety and increase participation in Surf Life Saving.

Regional Events Acceleration Fund 

Regional Events Acceleration Fund is now open for applications. The Regional Events Acceleration Fund helps organisations to bring new events to their region and make existing events even bigger and better. 

The types of events eligible for funding include:

  • major sporting and lifestyle events
  • major food and beverage events
  • major music, art and culture festivals.

Heritage NSW - Emergency Works Grants 

The Emergency Works Grants are open all year round to eligible applicants and subject to available funding.  These grants support the protection or repairs to declared Aboriginal Places, items listed on the State Heritage Register, or items with a current Interim Heritage Order that have been damaged by unexpected events (such as an extreme storm or accident) and where your insurance does not cover this cost.

Reducing Social Isolation for Seniors Grants Program 

The NSW Government grant for Reducing Social Isolation for Seniors aims to support effective, self-sustaining projects that provide meaningful opportunities for older people to connect with each other and develop quality relationships.

Infrastructure Grants

The NSW Government offers Infrastructure Grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. Funding is available for sport and recreation and arts and cultural infrastructure as well as projects that assist communities with essential infrastructure and disaster readiness.

NSW Environmental Trust Grants

The NSW Environmental Trust provides funding through a contestable grant programs for a range of community, government and industry stakeholders to deliver projects that conserve, protect and rehabilitate the NSW environment, or that promote environmental education and sustainability.

Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program

The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program provides NSW sports clubs and councils the opportunity to acquire an AED package for their club or sports facility at a reduced cost.

Sporting organisations and councils will be able to choose from a panel of approved AED Panel Service Providers and a variety of AED packaged services with the level of customer service that meets their needs.

Port Stephens Council - Community Funding Program

Port Stephens Council's Community Funding Program, Round 2 are now open for the Vibrant Spaces Fund, Community Event Development Fund and Community Support Fund, to inject vibrancy into local towns, hold COVID Safe events or provide support to the Port Stephens community.

Hunter Region Landcare Workshop Grants 

Hunter Local Land Services has funding available for a series of field-days/workshops, hosted by their Member Groups, on topics of interest to the Landcarers in their local area. Previous events have included woody weeds workshops, bird and frog workshops native plant identification and creating habitat workshops. These events could also include fauna visiting your Landcare sites, managing soils, action planning or any other Natural Resource Management topic.

2021 Hunter Region Landcare Awards 

The Hunter Region Landcare Network is inviting local people to nominate a member of their local community for the 2021 Regional Landcare Awards, in the following categories: Junior Landcare, Youth Leadership, Farming, Individual, Group and Indigenous.  These awards are open to all members of the community.

Westfield Local Heroes

Westfield Local Heroes is a recognition and awards program that celebrates people in Australia who make a positive impact to their local community or environment.  The program recognises and promotes community role models whose work or activities create a positive benefit for others.

ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Grant

ANZ is awarding grants to tennis clubs or venues around the country through the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grants program.

Local Drug Action Team Program

The Alcohol and Drug Foundation's Local Drug Action Teams (LDAT) Program supports organisations to build or extend local partnerships and develop evidence-based activities to prevent AOD-related harms where it matters the most - at the grass-roots, community level.

The PPCA Performers' Trust Fund

The PPCA Performers’ Trust Foundation provides grants to promote and encourage music and the music-related performing arts.  Grants must be for one or more of the following purposes:

  • Performances at concerts at or for charitable institutions such as hospitals or homes for the aged;
  • Scholarships for the promotion and encouragement of musical and theatrical education;
  • The promotion and encouragement of the performing arts to the general public;
  • The aid or assistance of any beneficiary who is unable to adequately maintain herself/himself by her/his own exertions and other income

The Dylan Alcott Foundation

The Dylan Alcott Foundation is a charitable organisation with the core purpose of helping young Australianss with disabilities gain confidence, fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams.

Alinta Energy Community Grants Program

Alinta Energy Community Grants are for projects that will demonstrate a positive impact on either: 
  • Social disadvantage (e.g. projects that assist members of the community in need); or
  • Environmental sustainability (e.g. projects that restore natural ecosystems, reduce the consumption of natural resources and/or reduce waste)

Hunter Water Grants

To help the community make smart water choices through education and awareness, as well as build resilience and liveability across our region. The grants will help to:

  • Boost community groups and organisations to identify and solve water conservation issues through practical solutions and projects
  • Inspire local schools, community groups and other organisations to undertake activities which tackle local environmental issues, to help protect and enhance our natural environment
  • Enhance liveability, diversity, inclusion and innovation in our community
  • Assist with customer hardship or economic stimulus as a result of the impact of COVID-19 in our region
