A Word from your Deputy Directors for Nursery & Primary

Dear TES Community,

This simple expression sums up the feeling pervading the building, our hearts, and our minds today.

But there is another expression that is even more important, which is resounding even louder throughout the school:

Thank you to everyone who has worked to make this school year the success that it has been.

Thank you to our students: you never fail to inspire us and help even the oldest of us continue to grow as people.

Thank you to our staff: your tireless efforts to ensure the safety, happiness, and development of our pupils have been present each and every moment.

Thank you to our parents: you have entrusted your children to our care for a large part of each day, but you are the stars that truly guide their way.

What an amazing community we belong to! We are eternally grateful for the moments we have shared this year!

We hope you have a fantastic summer, and we cannot wait to greet you in August for the start of our next year!

Your Nursery and Primary Deputies,
Maarja and Ian

A Word from your Deputy Director for Secondary

Dear TES Secondary Family,
So, this is it! We have reached the end of this school year! I would like to thank you all for your hard work, contribution, and effort. It has been a challenging year but also a fun and exciting one.
In addition to the everyday school life with its ups and downs, exams and tests, our Secondary pupils also had the chance to take part from many various activities and events and meet with numerous outstanding people from and outside of our community.
We listened lectures about climate change, study skills, internet safety, study choices, and many more. We organized numerous field trips, two Rakett 69 science camps, Career Days, and Career Guidance Programs, as well as three donation and food collection campaigns in cooperation with the Estonian Red Cross and the Estonian Food Bank. The first-ever Science and Humanities weeks were held and will hopefully mark the beginning of two new long-lasting traditions. Our pupils also launched the Sustainability Group, and the Student Council took the first steps in starting the cooperation with Helsinki European School. Our school was also amazingly represented at the European Schools Science Symposium. In addition, TES's first-ever student company Malvey was created!
Looking back on all of that, I am honored to be surrounded by such an active, kind and caring community. Everyone has given their best and contributed in one way or another. Thank you for this fabulous year!

I wish you all a fantastic summer and a well-deserved break! See you again at the beginning of the new school year! I am sure it will be a great one!

Your Deputy Director for Secondary

Thank you to all students and teachers for being with us

   Parent Council

Dear TES community,
When I spoke on behalf of the parents during Tallinn European School’s opening ceremony on August 26, 2013, I told the following story:
In Milano's castle stands a famous sculpture. It’s unfinished, but it’s still considered a masterpiece, because it was the very last work of Michelangelo. You can’t see much beauty or detail, but its potential is all there under the surface.
Our children are full of potential, but they are masterpieces still in the making. Through the careful application of skillful instruction, the teachers and staff of TES help us to sculpt our children’s lives and to unlock their potential. We, the parents, thank you for partnering with us.
Once again, at the close of my time with this school community, I want to give thanks to the teachers, administrators and staff who have had a hand in shaping Ingunn and my own boys' lives these past 9 years. We are very thankful for this school and especially for its wonderful teachers.
The Parent Council is calling for active parents to consider allowing their names to run in the next PC election to fill the vacant seat of chair. Parents are eligible for election to the chair and vice-chair positions and eligible to serve on the School Board if they have English language competence and are not in their first year at TES.
It has been a pleasure working with so many of you as a class representative, in the PTA, PC, TES Board and CAPEEA. Goodbye for now, and please keep in touch. :)
Warm regards,
Nathanael Turner
PC chair and representative for Secondary
