Covid-19 pandemic is having a catastrophic and global impact on health and economy at National / local government level and the way we live. Our experience show that to cope with this public health crisis, all sectors of Society at both national and global level must act together. To address such issues and opportunities for global co-operation, WHEELS have pulled together top leaders of four major professional organizations representing Medical, Engineering and Technologists with total membership of more than 500,000 in an exciting panel to discuss what their membership can do together to use the learning from this pandemic to create a new public healthcare infrastructure, system and practices.

The 'New Normal' in the post-COVID era promises to be a digitally connected world with fewer in-person interactions, meetings, trade shows, reduced travel, and increasing demand for connectivity through groups and associations. Professional associations, by definition, are organizations that connect people with shared interests, values, activities, and content. They work collaboratively to facilitate knowledge sharing, career opportunities, advocate best practices, standards, and even indulge in promoting philanthropic giving. Their main revenue is derived from networking events, chapters, publications, special interest groups, standards committees, and conventions. In this new paradigm for distancing, video meetings, professional and social networks such as LinkedIn, Yahoo, Google Groups, and many others, professional associations must reinvent themselves to remain relevant to their stakeholders. In addition, we are increasingly experiencing a 'Gig Economy' which is defined as "..independent consultants, contractors, online platform workers, contract firm workers, on-call workers, and temporary workers who provide services to the company's clients." There is also an expectation for much of the growth in the foreseeable future that will come from the rural and rurban development sectors. They will require new ventures and business models with an emphasis on public-private- partnerships. These workers will have changing demands and expectations from a Professional Association. To discuss these scenarios and dynamics for a knowledge-based workforce we are delighted to have four of the largest and most influential associations in the world, IEEE with 350,000 members worldwide, PanIIT USA and India with a combined membership of 200,000 worldwide, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin with 80,000+ members in North America. Their leaders will address their vision and how these associations can remain 'relevant' going forward.

Please join us and register for this engaging discussion on Friday, Aug 21st, from 10am to 11:30am (US EST), 7:30pm to 9pm (IST) .

Upon registration, you may send your questions in advance to info@wheelsglobal.org. Attendees will also be able to post their questions during the webinar.
