Macho Macho wins Dioraphte 'Best of Amsterdam Fringe' Award

"A day without laughter is a day wasted."

- Charlie Chaplin

Today I cannot stop smiling. After two residencies in two different countries, in total of 50 days of rehearsals, researching and developing a way of working, six days of performing at the Amsterdam Fringe Festival, two performances in eleven days, almost 300 people in the audience, three weeks of non-stop marketing and promotion, nine sneak previews, six litres of performers' sweat or so, two pairs of jeans, underwear and white t-shirts, working with the greatest two performers Anton and Ilija, my dearest coach Maarten, and many others, last night the thirteen headed jury of the Amsterdam Fringe Festival decided that the one and only first prize goes to Macho Macho.

Still a little bit confused, in awe and unaware of what happened, I woke up drunk and happy at the same time. And that is a weird combination to me... However, if I must believe the press release on the internet, the pictures and all the congratulations on social media and my phone, I conclude it is for real. Here you can confirm it yourself. And whilst you're at it, check out the review from the Volkskrant as well.

So, hereby a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has participated in this production, practically, financially, mentally and emotionally. There are too many names to write, but you know who you are and your part couldn't be missed. And of course, the greatest thank you to my family, who has always supported me no matter what. I love you guys!

For now, champagne!
