Funding
Local Community Projects Funding 
Local Community Projects Funding is offered to organisations supporting people in need. Any not-for-profit organisation can apply. They are interested in projects that improve resilience within your community. This can include sessional activities/respite support, equipment for sessional activities, trips and residential breaks. The maximum grant that they can give is £2,000. Follow this link to be taken to an online application form. If you do require their assistance, please contact the Greggs Foundation on 0191 2127626. Round 3 is now open and closes on 29th September, with decisions being announced no later than 24th November 2017.

Dream Fund 2018
Charities in England, Scotland and Wales are eligible to apply for funding to deliver the project they have always dreamed of, but never had the opportunity to bring to life. All applications must come from at least two charitable organisations that have joined forces to deliver an innovative project. Grants of between £500,000 and £1 million are available to deliver a project, 24 months in length, between 2018 and 2020. Applications must be innovative, creative and original, and present projects that are a genuine ‘dream'. VCS Workforce Development Grants
A reminder that the Herts Community Foundation 2017-18 programme is now open for organisations who received less than £1,000 last year or to any organisation with an income of below £300,000. From 1st September, it will be open to all eligible organisations. So as the funding is allocated on a first come first served basis to eligible applications, they recommend that if you are interested in applying for up to £2,000 you should get in touch as soon as possible to start the process. Could a school team raise £1000 for your organisation?
North Herts CVS is seeking local charity and voluntary groups to inspire, engage and motivate teams of lower sixth form students from schools in the districts of North Herts and Stevenage. The Challenge will launch in October 2017 and run up until March 2018. Charity and voluntary groups must be full members of North Herts CVS. Fundraising Coordinator
27.5 hours per week 
Monday – Friday (9am – 3pm)

Salary: £23,660 (pro rata)
The Dyspraxia Foundation are currently recruiting for a Fundraising Coordinator based at their offices in Hitchin, liaising closely with their Hitchin Team and the Fundraising Committee to develop and expand their fundraising strategy. To identify new and existing opportunities, co-ordinate and be responsible for generating fundraising income to support Dyspraxia Foundation core operations and secure the long term sustainability of the charity. We will be holding regular drop-in sessions to answer your questions. Anne Taylor has 10 years’ experience of supporting all shapes and sizes of charitable organisations. 
Every first Tuesday in the month, 10:00–12:00
and 14:00-16:00 at our Letchworth office
Every first Wednesday in the month, 2pm–4pm at Stoneyhall Community Centre

Safeguarding Adults at Risk for Lead/Designated Person
All those wanting to attend this course must have completed a Level 1 Safeguarding Adults at Risk course in the last 2 years. This course is aimed at the adult safeguarding lead (or designated person) in voluntary and community organisations. It is also relevant for managers/trustees wanting to accompany their lead or to find out about the role in order to appoint a lead. 14th September, 9.30-13.30, Stoneyhall Community Centre. Defining and Measuring Outcomes
If you are responsible for securing funding, reporting to funders or managing a project or service, and want to learn more about how to define and monitor outcome measures and evaluate the difference your project or service has made, then this course is for you. 20th September, 10.00-16.00, Stoneyhall Community Centre. Ware Volunteer Fair
#TeamHerts invite you to their Volunteer Fair where there will be various volunteer involving organisations promoting their roles. You will have the chance to visit the stalls and talk directly to these organisations about their opportunities. You can drop in anytime between 10:00–11.30. #TeamHerts Volunteering will be handing out goodie bags to those who register to attend, so get in touch to show your interest. The Price is Right - Costing Your Services
Many organisations, particularly those providing adult social care, are affected by personal budgets and direct payments. There is also an increasing need for voluntary and community groups to diversify their income by selling goods and services.
This training is suitable for managers and staff responsible for income generation, marketing and/or finance. 17th October, 09:30-13:30, Stoneyhall Community Centre. Email Rebecca for a booking form.

Adult Movement at Royston Museum
This is a great chance to take some time out and focus on your own health and well-being. Carrie Washington from BEEE Creative leads a dance and movement workshop for the over 50s at Royston Museum on selected Mondays and Fridays. These fun, creative dance sessions are suitable for anyone with an interest in movement - all abilities are welcome and no previous experience necessary. Suggested donation £3 per person.
