Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
To quote Paul: “I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). The future looks bright for Anchorage Presbyterian Church and there is much to celebrate as we move forward together!
APC is rich in many ways. Jesus said, “from everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48). The capital campaign and the church budget show a commitment to this church and its mission partners locally and around the world. You routinely step up when there is a need and give generously of your resources.
The Anchorage neighborhood is fundamental to who you are as a congregation. It is your home and you are committed to the well-being of the people who live here. I see this in your connection with Centerstone’s Bellewood campus, local businesses, the school, and your neighbors.
Worship has a central place in the life of your community of faith. The Spirit is present in worship as well as the gathering time before and after. I enjoy coming into the sanctuary and finding people smiling and the room buzzing with conversation.
I have felt palpable energy among you. The Deacons are impressive in their attention to and pastoral care of members and visitors. People come and go daily taking care of commitments and responsibilities and do so with joy.
Thank you for graciously welcoming me into your community. I sense an excitement about the future of APC and a readiness to keep moving forward. Change is never easy, but it is essential if we are to flourish in life and ministry. I encourage you to embrace this transitional time as an opportunity to try new things, discern God’s call upon your life, and encourage one another in Christian fellowship. I am committed to walking this path with you.

Capital Campaign Construction Update
The renovation work in the basement continues. Drywall is installed, electical, plumbing and HVAC are roughed in and ceiling grid will begin soon. The renovation work is starting to move into other parts of the building. The goal is to get the restroom next to the choir room back in service as soon as possible. So far, the disruption has mostly been hidden in the basement. Over the next several months, expect to see more activity on the ground floor and upper levels.

Church Security
The Building and Grounds committee and Session have approved a security system that will allow automated access control with easy entry for those who need to be in the building, while keeping possible intruders out. It will be installed in the next few weeks. In the meantime, as worship begins, we will be locking the Grace Hall exterior door as well as the door by the office. You may exit through any door, but if you need to move about the building, such as going to the nursery during worship, please use the interior doors near the pulpit and lectern.

Errata. In a recent email regarding the selection of a book for the Faith Applied class, we altered the book description borrowed from the online site without proper acknowledgment. We changed the text "Trump era" to "present era." We should have used brackets to indicate the change, thus "[present] era."
