The Coeur Group Newsletter: October 2017

The Coeur Group has the privilege of being hosted by Nick Smoot and Patrick Geren of the Innovation Collective at the new Innovation Den for our October meeting. The group was able to tour the new facility and listen to emerging community leaders as they continue to transform Coeur d’Alene into the next technology hub.

Safe Passage also joined the meeting to inform the group about their Martini Affair, their annual event to benefit Coeur d’Alene’s local violence prevention center. More information about Safe Passage can be found at:

The Coeur Group is again happy to announce that a Coeur Group Locker will be in the live auction at EXCEL’s 31st Annual Big Event. Each year the Coeur Group donates a locker to be built in the name of the highest bidder at the Big Event. Charles Linder

What is your current job and tell us a little about what you do?
I am the Manager of Guest Services at Kootenai Health. My department helps support and manage the patient and guest experience at the hospital. I also get the opportunity to help develop and implement training programs that focus on building positive company culture through highly engaged employees.
How long have you been a member of The Coeur Group and what is your best experience so far?
I've been a member of the Coeur Group since 2011. In that time I've had a lot of awesome experiences with the group. I am really proud of the work we have done with our Locker Program as well as the Children's Village but I also really enjoy the regular meetings too. The conversations are always great and there are a lot of talented, passionate and hilarious guys in the group. We have just a little bit of fun!
What's your favorite moment of your career to this point?
Working in healthcare is amazing and working at Kootenai Health is extremely rewarding. Prior to Kootenai Health I worked with Pita Pit for many years where I had the opportunity to do some pretty awesome stuff like help open our first stores in England, France and India. It's tough to single out a particular moment but I would say the relationships I've built over the last 15 years is something I'm the most grateful for.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I have a spectacular wife and two healthy young boys that keep me busy and entertained. We enjoy partying with our friends and family on the lake or on the slopes. I also like to swing the golf clubs, enjoy delicious brewskis and listen to good tunes.
Why would you recommend The Coeur Group to a colleague?
It's all about the members! The Coeur Group is a diverse group of people with a desire to support and improve their community. If you want to have fun with a genuine group of fellas and do some meaningful work - then the Coeur Group is the spot!
