A day full of inspiring insights

Under the theme of “Lead - everything starts with yourself”, the 3rd annual conference of METRO GROUP’s network Women in Trade (WiT) took place in March at the global headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany. Heiko Hutmacher (CHRO METRO AG) welcomed the WiT community underlining the importance of the network for the company. Ewa Jankowiak (Commercial Director of METRO Cash & Carry Russia) and Pieter Boone (CEO of METRO Cash & Carry) provided some touching moments when they shared their personal stories with the audience. Most of their career steps were not planned but required boldness, self-confidence, curiosity and openness towards different cultures. External key note speaker Myriam Cohen-Welgryn, Regional President of MARS Pet Nutrition Europe, spoke about how important it is to stay true to oneself and gave some insights of her own experiences. Furthermore, breakout sessions on topics like ”Increase your personal marketing”, “Find your own leadership style” and “Get to know your unconscious bias” helped the audience to understand how much your thoughts can influence your success.

Women in Trade (WiT) is an employee network within METRO GROUP aiming to support and promote the professional development of women.
