Almost 40 years ago (27 August 1977) the world renowned meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche arrived at Manjushri Centre in the UK - an event that heralded the dawn of modern Kadampa Buddhism in this world.
Since that time Venerable Geshe-la has worked tirelessly to introduce modern Kadampa Buddhism into contemporary society and create a worldwide infrastructure to support its growth and development in this and future generations.
One of his greatest kindnesses has been the writing of numerous Dharma books and the training of many qualified Dharma teachers, perfectly presenting the teachings of Buddha in a way that is accessible and practical for modern people.
We are delighted to celebrate this '40 years of kindness' by announcing the much-anticipated new edition of Venerable Geshe-la’s book, Ocean of Nectar - The True Nature of All Things. This book is a real treasury of wisdom that reveals all the stages of the vast and profound paths of Buddha's teachings.
Ocean of Nectar is the first complete explanation in English of the renowned Indian Buddhist Master, Chandrakirti’s Guide to the Middle Way, a precious Mahayana scripture, which to this day is regarded as the principal presentation of Buddha’s profound view of emptiness, the ultimate nature of reality.

The Madhyamika system arose from the extremely vast and deep ocean of Nagarjuna’s wisdom. Frightened by this vastness and profundity, some beings have kept this excellent system at a great distance. In reality, however, Fundamental Wisdom is like a beautiful kumuta flower that grew from the ocean of Nagarjuna’s wisdom, but because its verses were not understood its petals remained folded keeping the nectar of emptiness within. Through the power of the sunlight of Chandrakirti’s wisdom these petals have now unfolded and the precious nectar of emptiness has flowed forth completely fulfilling the hopes of Madhyamika scholars such as Chandrakirti.’
