How to manage infection prevention
and control
In this article we bring together some useful resources to assist practitioners to fulfill their infection prevention responsibilities. The recent problems at four Sydney dental practices act as a timely reminder of the consequences of not complying with infection prevention standards in clinical practice.
From an ethical perspective, every patient has the right to direct what happens to his or her body. From a legal perspective there are legal precedents underpinning informed consent. From a practical perspective the principle of confidentiality applies.
