Home Sweet Home Alaska!

After a 10-day journey with my mom through the US, Canada, and parts of Alaska, I've arrived at my new home in Anchorage, AK! The trip to get here was long, hard, and amazing. I'm so thankful for my mom making the trip with me. I couldn't have done it without her, and I'm grateful for the memories we made. Be sure to visit my blog (http://www.kerrionmission.com/moving-to-alaska-road-trip-days-1-and-2/) to read all about our trip!

I want to thank you all for your prayers for our safe journey. There were some tough spots along the way, but God got us here in one piece, dog included. Also as answered prayer, I have an awesome place to live with my new roommate Sarah, who happens to be from the Texas Panhandle, too. Praise Jesus!

Summertime and Alaska Missions
Sports Camp TeamsAlaska Missions is in full swing this summer, so I've hit the ground running! Last week I got to travel down to check out the first week of our Kenai Peninsula Sports Camp for kids. What an amazing outreach to families and the community! Week 1 included volleyball, football, and archery, with volunteer mission teams (pictured to the right, including coaches and student athletes) from the Lower 48 leading the kids through skills drills and games. Week 2 starts tomorrow, so please be praying for the kids, their families, volunteer teams, and our AKMR staff. Many God moments take place when the Family of God serves. The camp is so popular that we will be adding a third week next year! Praise God with me!

Our Mission Anchorage summer project is also going full blast. We have eight summer missionaries and interns serving in our local parks and leading volunteer mission teams for our kids lunch program and service projects. I got to serve at Mission Anchorage as a volunteer last year, so this project is extra close to my heart! Please pray for connections with the kids who come to play, have lunch, and stay for Bible stories and activities. May God plant new seeds, water seeds previously planted, and bring the about salvation for these kids and their families.

Other summer projects to pray for are our construction teams throughout the summer and the Salmon Frenzy teams coming in July to serve on the Kenai Peninsula. If you want to join us serving next summer, please contact me!
Speaking Engagements
Before leaving Texas, I had the privilege of speaking at the First Baptist Church of White Deer (TX), Calvary Baptist in Panhandle (TX), and to an Adult Sunday School Class at Paramount Baptist in Amarillo (TX). Thank you so much to these church families for letting me share my heart for Alaska! Your prayers are felt and appreciated greatly!
Prayer Support
Here are some ways you can pray with me:
  • Praise: Praise God for a safe journey to and arrival in Alaska! Thank Him with me for a new home and roommate.
  • Praise: I am over 81% funded for monthly support through the end of 2017! Join me in believing God for His continued provision each year, and thank Him with me now for what He is going to do.
  • Request: Please pray for me as I look for a new church home in Anchorage.
  • Request: Please lift up our summer mission projects, missionaries, and volunteer teams as we serve Alaskans. Pray for open doors to share the Gospel, build relationships, and bring people from apathy to curiosity about Christ! May AKMR point all people to Him for His glory!
As a staff member with Alaska Missions, I am responsible for raising 80% of my annual salary. It is through your generous donations and partnership that I can be obedient to God's call and expanding His Kingdom in Alaska.
