Hayes Valley Art Works

A Community Creation Space

As we approach springtime, I hope you have enjoyed the ongoing transformation of a vacant lot into a vibrant, colorful, community center - Hayes Valley Art Works. We have expanded our schedule, now open 6 days a week from 12-5PM (closed on Tuesdays). Rain or shine, we have been having so much fun!

Please join us for our Launch Party this Saturday, March 12th starting at 1PM. We have a full schedule of amazing events, workshops and classes planned, and all are welcome to participate.  Thank you for being a part of our community - hope to see you soon!

“I love the idea of recycling my art into new pieces, and that’s what I have been working on at Hayes Valley Art Works. I have always enjoyed creating art for my neighbors to enjoy, just by adding a splash of color to their day.”

Featured Artist: Mary Teetor
"A labyrinth is a walking meditation.  It has been my great pleasure to build, with the help of some wonderful Hayes Valley residents, two new labyrinth designs over the past two months; and I look forward to giving Hayes Valley Art Works a new design every month or so.  Come down and walk our labyrinths and feel the peace with us."

Introducing Abuntoo

Abuntoo is a new fundraising platform where donors can pick rewards offered by a local business as a thank-you gift.  With the help of Abuntoo, we are launching a month-long campaign to raise $3,000 for a new project for the site, A Walk Through Time, which will combine art with an interactive narrative history of Hayes Valley.  To support the project and to receive rewards from local businesses like CityRide Bike Rentals, visit Abuntoo at
