Looking Ahead
Welcome New Subscribers!
If you read last week's much abbreviated newsletter, you know that my husband passed away on March 28. Since that time, my life has been filled with phone calls, paperwork, and memories.
Although I treasure the pleasant memories, I cannot dwell on the past; I need to look forward to my new life ahead.
Not everything will change. I plan to continue to write for my website and send out the newsletter every Friday. I am still accepting participants for my tour to Paris in the fall. And I will continue to travel.
My daughter and I purchased plane tickets in the fall for travel later this spring. As the time grew closer, I tried to get excited for the trip. I was hesitant to leave my husband, concerned about what might happen if he had a medical problem before we left or while we were gone. That area of concern is now behind me, so hopefully I will be able to full enjoy the trip.
Although I will miss my husband, he always encouraged me to travel and so, I believe he will be with me in spirit. I will think about him when I'm away and wonder if he would have enjoyed that new places I visit. I am looking ahead to a life that will be different, but yet the same.
Thank you to everyone that has offered prayers and comforting words for me during this time.

I hope you enjoy reading the posts this week. Share the newsletter with your family and friends! If you are reading your friend's newsletter, you can sign up for your own here.

This Week's Post:

Planning and Organization with Google Drive

We are all familiar with the large search engine, Google, and have probably used it to look up information. Google has more to offer than information, though; it also gives us several organizational tools bundled together into Google Drive. The most popular tool is Google mail, or gmail, and I would guess at least half of my readers have a gmail account – I have three!

With a free Google account you will have access to Google+ (a social media module) and Google calendar, along with gmail. You will also be able to use Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. These modules are what you would guess – Google Docs stores your documents, Google Sheets stores spreadsheets, and Google Slides stores slide presentations...

Chicago's Art Institute and Discount Tickets

Whenever I travel abroad, I look for deals and discounts on tickets to museums or other attractions that I plan to visit, but I don’t always think about it here at home. When my daughter and I visited the Art Institute in Chicago on Friday, though, we did get a deal.  I’ll tell you about it.

Getting Discounted Tickets

First, though, I’ll tell you about a few of the ways we have saved on tickets. Some cities have passes that include nearly all the museums or attractions in that city, some have several small groups of attractions, and some offer both options, so you can choose.

In Venice, Italy, for example, you can purchase a pass to the Doge’s Palace, the Correr Museum, and two smaller museums; or you can buy one that covers those and seven more museums...
