Lunch & Learn: 1939 World's Fair

Join us on Feb.15, 2017 to "Lunch & Learn" about the connection between the 1939 New York World's Fair and the Dixie Art Colony. Out of 25,000 entries, works by six Dixie Art Colony artists were selected for inclusion in the impressive exhibition titled "American Art Today." The exhibition sponsored by IBM. included such well-known American artists as Thomas Hart Benton, Charles Burchfield, Edward Hopper, and Grant Wood. 
Shown above is Karl Wole's Somnolent Afternoon.
Somnolent Afternoon was included in the 1939 exhibition.
