The Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA) invites you to submit a research proposal for presentation at the 2017 WMEA Conference. For complete information, including the official Call for Research (PDF), please visit
Types of Submissions Sought:
Submit an extended abstract of the study (300-500 words), which outlines the purpose, methodology, and findings of the study. Please review the evaluation rubric to be used for proposals, which can be found on the WMEA Research Poster Presentation page (
Topics Sought:
All topics related to music education. Research studies should not have been previously published, but may represent work that is in progress. You are especially encouraged to submit undergraduate research or collaborative studies with undergraduate students. 
Submission Information:
Submissions should be sent electronically (via email) as an attachment (PDF) to Dr. Paul Budde, WMEA Research Chair, at In the body of the email, please include your name, address, phone number, and school/professional affiliation. Label the attached file (PDF) using only the project title - do NOT include personal identification on the file name, as attachments will be forwarded to WMEA Research Committee members for a blind review. 
Deadline for Submissions:
Application Requirements - must be received by September 8, 2017
Notification - applicants will be notified by September 30, 2017
