Description:
The Research Chair of the Kansas Music Education Association invites submissions of recent research reports for review and consideration to be presented during the Research Poster Session at the Kansas Music Education Association’s Professional In-Service Workshop in Wichita, Kansas February 23-25, 2017. The deadline for poster submission is Feb. 10, 2017.
Types of Submissions Sought:
All kinds of research accepted for presentation: Excellent class paper, completed master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and reports of original research studies. The continuing goal of the Research Poster Session is to encourage and share the work of music researchers, students, practitioners, and independent music educators who teach at all levels.  Student papers must be recommended by faculty advisors.  Faculty are encouraged to submit projects that have been previously presented in other, larger venues.  
Topics Sought:
Research reports in music education or other related music disciplines (e.g., theory, musicology, performance, pedagogy, therapy) are welcome. 
Submission Information:
1. To submit completed student work, a faculty member must recommend the project in question and supply all authors’ names, Institution name(s), and complete title.  If all of the above-mentioned items are included, the poster will be guaranteed acceptance for presentation. These should be sent by e-mail from the faculty member’s email.

2. To submit a report of any other type of original research project, by a colleague or faculty member, the author’s name(s), professional affiliations, and titles must be submitted by email.  The project should demonstrate sound research practices, but any presentation of new data is appropriate for this forum.

3. Papers presented at conferences, other than previous KMEA state conferences, are encouraged.

Submissions should not have been previously published (in print) and should otherwise adhere to the MENC Research Publication/Presentation Code of Ethics [http://tinyurl.com/o4768ww]. 
Deadline for Submissions:
The deadline for this year's poster session is February 10, 2017. Presenters will be notified by return email shortly after submission. 

If accepted for presentation, the primary or listed co-researchers must register for and attend the conference to present the poster. The session is on Friday, February 24th from 3:00-3:50 in the upper lobby (a floor above the registration desk) of Century II in Wichita.  Posters can go up any time after noon on Thursday, and stay until the end of the meet the author session.  Presenters will be expected to supply abstracts and papers upon request.
