Assistant/Associate Professor--Instrumental Music Education
Doctorate in music education; candidates with completed doctoral coursework considered. Successful teaching experience in instrumental music at the elementary/secondary level is required (minimum three years), with additional experience at the collegiate level preferred.
Position Expectations:
The Ithaca College School of Music announces a full-time, tenure-eligible position in instrumental (wind-percussion) music education at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Duties will include teaching instrumental music methods courses, teaching secondary instrument classes, and mentoring/supervising student teachers. Other duties may include conducting an ensemble and teaching other undergraduate or graduate music education courses based on candidate expertise or program needs. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of musicianship and be familiar with contemporary issues related to teaching and learning music.
