Implementing Music Policies & Action Steps (IMPACTS) in Early Childhood

Description:
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Early Childhood Music Special Research Interest Group (ECM SRIG) is extending the deadline for presentation proposals for an upcoming ECM SRIG meeting focused on early childhood music policy. The purpose of the meeting is to create actionable steps to increase early childhood music awareness among and across stakeholders. 
Types of Submissions Sought:
Submissions of presentation proposals of three types will be blind-reviewed by ECM SRIG leadership on topics related to early childhood (learners up to 9 years old).
Topics Sought:
  • Conclusion and implications of a research study pertaining to early childhood music policy
  • Approaches to developing and implementing policies
  • Literature Reviews that point to a need for early childhood music policy
Submission Information:
Please submit the following for review:
  1.  title of the abstract
  2. contact author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address, mailing address
  3. a short, program-ready abstract (500 words or fewer) that does not identify the author(s) in any way. Please include the title as well as the type of proposal on the abstract.
Deadline for Submissions:
Abstracts must be submitted via email to Diana Dansereau, ECM SRIG Chair (drd1@bu.edu) on or before November 15, 2016. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by November 30, 2016.
