Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurism & Innovation in the Arts, tenure-track
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree in any area of music, entrepreneurism or related field or professional experience equivalent.
  • An established record as an entrepreneur or research equivalent in music industries.
  • Demonstrated experience working professionally with artists from other art forms (dancers, actors and/or visual artists).
Experience teaching.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience engaging the community and/or the schools.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the music industry including contemporary commercial trends.
Position Expectations:
The School of Music at the University of South Florida is searching for a creative and collaborative artist who has an established record as an entrepreneur. The College of the Arts at the University of South Florida believes that every artist is an entrepreneur and wishes to add instruction in entrepreneurism into all of its curriculum. Music being both an art form and a commercial industry makes a perfect opportunity for this type of integrated initiative.

The successful candidate will create and maintain an active research agenda and annually report on progress toward promotion and tenure. They will offer entrepreneurship courses for undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of the arts, as well as music courses in their specialty and as needed by the School. In addition, they will be expected to organize workshops, symposia, convocations, etc. covering a wide range of entrepreneurism topics and areas in the arts. They will also liaise with faculty from other areas in the College of the Arts, and across the University, and with the community.
