Position:
Assistant Professor of Innovation in the Arts and Entrepreneurism
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree (PhD, DMA, etc.) in music or ABD or professional experience equivalent. An established record as an innovator and entrepreneur in music industries. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the music industry including contemporary commercial trends.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience engaging the community and/or the schools. Demonstrated experience working professionally with artists from other art forms (dancers, actors and/or visual artists). An established record of research in artistic areas of interest curriculum design, and leveraging social media and technology.
Position Expectations:
The School of Music at the University of South Florida is searching for a creative and collaborative musician who has an established record as an innovator in music and the arts, and as an entrepreneur in music industries. The Assistant Professor of Innovation in the Arts and Entrepreneurism is a 9-month, full-time, tenure track position which contributes to the teaching, research and service missions of the University of South Florida. Anticipated start date is August 8, 2023 or earlier depending on the availability of the successful candidate and the needs of the school. The successful candidate will create and maintain an active research agenda involving any aspect of innovation in music and the arts and offer entrepreneurism courses for undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of the arts, as well as music courses in their specialty and as needed by the school. They will be expected to organize workshops, symposia, convocations, etc., covering a wide range of innovation and entrepreneurism topics and areas in the arts. They will also liaise with faculty from other areas in the School of Music, across the University, and with entities in the community. In addition, they will participate in shared governance within the institution.
