Silver Lake College of the Holy Family
Assistant or Associate Professor of Choral Music Education - Faculty
Established or emerging national reputation as a teacher educator. Public/private school teaching experience and completed Master’s degree required, Doctorate in Music Education or Choral Conducting preferred. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and support the Mission of Silver Lake College.
Position Expectations:
The Department of Music at Silver Lake College is seeking a dynamic music educator to join the Music Faculty, located in the newly opened Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance. Silver Lake College’s Music Department has earned national and international acclaim as a major teacher education center for Kodály-based music instruction.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in general and choral music education methods and will also serve on the Summer Faculty of Silver Lake College Graduate Summer Music Program. Will co-direct the music education program, supervise student teachers and participate in college and departmental service, and committee assignments. Will conduct choral ensembles and participate in recruitment activities. Additional responsibilities may include applied instruction or other assignments based on qualifications.

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is a Catholic, liberal arts-based, co-educational institution sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, who founded the College in 1935 and continue to be an integral part of its life and mission.

Located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Silver Lake College currently enrolls approximately 700 students, including over 200 traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult learners. In addition to the main campus in Manitowoc, adult students have the ability to take classes at selected off-site locations and online. Undergraduate degrees are granted in over 45 areas of study, which mixes the traditional liberal arts with professional and pre-professional programs including Business, Education, and Nursing.
