University of Maryland School of Music
Music Education specialist in the area of General Music Education or String Education for a one-year, visiting appointment in the School of Music beginning Fall 2016.
Doctorate in Music Education and/or equivalent professional experience preferred (ABD considered); successful PreK-12 school teaching experience; successful university/college teaching experience; evidence of professional leadership in music education; strong organizational and communication skills.
Position Expectations:
Teach undergraduate courses in general music education, string music education, and/or other undergraduate music education courses as aligned with the successful candidate’s previous experience; organize student teaching internship placements and seminars; develop and maintain relationships with music educators through workshops, performances, and school visits; other duties as aligned with candidate’s expertise and qualifications.
