Assistant Professor of Music Education - Instrumental (Strings Preferred). Tenure Track.

Ph.D. in Music Education or ABD
Position Expectations:
The University of Kentucky is seeking a full-time, regular title series, 9-month, tenure-eligible Assistant Professor of Music Education to join our outstanding faculty in the UK School of Music to begin August 2023. Our new colleague will be an integral member of the music education and music therapy division and will: (1) Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in music education (e.g., instrumental music education methods, educational foundations, music in higher education) and courses taken by students in our division (e.g., research methods); (2) Serve on thesis committees for graduate music education and music therapy students; (3) Observe and guide instrumental student teachers; and (4) Provide leadership to the School of Music’s community music group New Horizons. While we welcome candidates with backgrounds in all research methodologies, a background in quantitative research methodologies and advanced statistical analysis is preferred. Experience teaching college-level music education and conducting an instrumental ensemble is preferred.
