Case Western Reserve University
Full-time lecturer and Director of Choral Activities
Applicants must have at minimum A.B.D. status in a doctoral program in Music Education, demonstrated experience in choral conducting, a minimum of three years documented successful public school teaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Preferred qualifications include: a background in vocal pedagogy; college teaching experience; and receipt of doctorate by date of appointment.
Position Expectations:
Duties will include teaching undergraduate courses in vocal/choral music education methods and directing the Case Concert Choir and an additional ensemble. Other duties, dependent on qualifications and departmental needs, may include directing an additional ensemble or teaching additional undergraduate and graduate courses. The teaching load is 5 courses/year (2 one semester, 3 one semester) in addition to a substantial department service role including ensemble management, mentoring choral music education students, recruiting for the choir and the music education program, and interfacing with local schools through guest clinics, observations, etc.
