Meeting Title:
2017 Symposium on Music Teacher Education
Location:
Minneapolis, MN
Date(s) of Meeting:
Sep 7-9, 2017
Description:
As we embark on this seventh symposium, our goal is to sustain professional conversations and collaborative action while challenging our profession to imagine possibilities for the future of music education. Specifically, this year’s theme, Imagining Possible Futures, invites us to consider who will be engaged in music education, where and in which contexts music education occurs, what will be the expectations for and experiences within music education, and how music education will be funded and supported. While we contemplate the future, we also wish to consider the impact of our informative past and our dynamic present, to ascertain how change might be enacted.
