Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester
The University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music seeks applications for a tenure-track position in Music Education (General) beginning in the Fall semester 2017. Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. 
Completed doctorate (ABD considered); record of pre-collegiate and collegiate teaching; record of scholarship and creative work relative to career stage; and commitment to excellence in teaching.
Position Expectations:
Teach General Music methods, supervise student teachers, teach graduate courses in areas of expertise, advise graduate research. Actively pursue research and creative activities to achieve national and international prominence in music education.

The Department of Music Teaching and Learning at the Eastman School of Music offers general, instrumental, and vocal undergraduate majors in music education; Master of Music and Master of Arts degrees (which may be combined with initial certification coursework); a summers-only option for master’s degrees; and two doctoral degrees, DMA and PhD. The department values intellectual rigor and hands-on musicianship skills.
