Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference

January 25–28, 2017 (Research sessions on Jan. 26, Jan. 27, & Jan. 28)
Please consider submitting a proposal for presentation at one of the three research sessions which will take place during the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference, January 25–28, 2017, in Colorado Springs. Sessions will consist of twenty-minute (approx.) "featured" presentations, delivered orally (supplemented with slideshow at the researcher's discretion). 
Types of Submissions Sought:
Proposals should be in the form of a one-page abstract and should summarize the following elements of your study: (a) purpose/problem; (b) sample; (c) methodology; (d) results/projected analyses; and (e) discussion/implications.

Please know that ALL paradigms, methodologies, and approaches to research in our field are welcome and encouraged -- that is, philosophical, historical, or empirical research; quantitative or qualitative; descriptive, causal-comparative, correlational, or experimental; and so on (with such proposals summarizing the the corresponding elements of the research, mutatis mutandis). Also, reports of research-in-progress (with expected completion by the conference date) are also welcome. Proposals will be read by two or more external reviewers who will be blind to applicant identity.
Topics Sought:
Submission on any topic related to music teaching and learning are welcome and encouraged. All faculty, graduate students, and research-minded teachers in music education and related fields are encouraged to apply.

Send an electronic version (.doc, .docx, .txt, .rtf, or simply within the text of the email -- please DO NOT submit a PDF document) of a one-page abstract describing your completed research or research-in-progress to Please use the subject line "CMEA 2017 Research Proposal".
Deadline for Submissions:
Submissions due October 1, 2016, 10:00 p.m. Mountain Time. (Proposals submitted after this time may be considered if openings exist, however, it may not be possible to advertise them in the conference program.) Presenters will be notified of their selection by the week of October 3rd, with reviewers' feedback provided.
