The Eastern Division NAfME conference provides professional development for pre-service, in-service and higher education professionals. The Eastern Division serves the states in NAfME's designated Eastern Division, but often draws presenters and attendees from around the country. The 2017 Eastern Division conference will be held in conjunction with the New Jersey state MEA conference.
Types of Submissions Sought:
Two types of research sessions will be held during the NAfME Eastern Division Conference: (a) a Poster Session that includes completed unpublished research as well as projects in process, and (b) a Paper Reading Session for selected completed and in-progress projects. Authors whose papers are accepted for the Paper Reading Session must also present at the Poster Session.
Topics Sought:
All types of topics related to music education and all types of research methods are welcomed for this conference.
Submission Information:
Authors must submit the following for review:

1. The following items: 1) Title of the abstract, 2) contact author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address, mailing address and 3) indicate one of the following: (a) Please consider this submission for the Poster Session only OR (b) Please consider this submission for both the Poster and Paper Reading sessions;

2. One copy of a one page abstract that does not identify the author(s) in any way. Include the title on the abstract.

Submissions not adhering to these guidelines will be automatically rejected.

Deadline for Submissions:
Authors are to submit their abstracts no later than midnight (EST) on November 2, 2016. The abstracts will be blind-reviewed by a committee comprising of several Eastern Division State Research Chairs. Notification of acceptance will be e-mailed to authors by January 30, 2017.
