Doctorate in Music Education by start of appointment in August 2023. The successful candidate will have previous teaching experience in music education at the college level as well as a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the Pk-12 level.

The UW-Madison Mead Witter School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in music education at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The ideal candidate will embrace the School's student-centered, mentor-driven educational mission and commitment to inclusive recruitment.
The School seeks to hire an innovative individual with the demonstrated ability or potential ability to carry out successful, high-quality teaching, research/scholarship and leadership within a large, public university setting; to lead the implementation of a new undergraduate music education curriculum in collaboration with colleagues in music performance, music theory, historical musicology and ethnomusicology; and to help re-imagine the School's graduate programs in music education.
The School is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research explores new areas of inquiry within music education, such as but not limited to, critical pedagogies, music technology, popular musics, and world musics.The ideal candidate will contribute to the School's critically important programs in music education by teaching undergraduate courses in the music education professional sequence and graduate courses in their area of expertise.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a well-articulated program of research and scholarship appropriate to the assistant or associate professor rank. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students, serving on degree committees, and providing leadership at the area, departmental, college and university levels.
