Description of Meeting:
The Pacific Southwest chapter of The College Music Society will hold its 7th Conference, Music and Social Justice: Issues in Diversity, Sustainability, and Engagement, March 13–15, 2020, at Northern Arizona University, located in scenic Flagstaff, Arizona near the Grand Canyon.
Types of Submissions Sought:
Research Paper Presentations and Research Posters
Description of Types of Submissions Sought:
The Program Committee welcomes proposals for demonstrations, discussion forums, panels, scholarly research papers, posters, and workshops relating to all aspects of music creation, performance, scholarship, teaching, learning, career considerations, and other areas of interest to the music professional. The Committee invites the broadest representation from the music profession and its interests, and welcomes proposals from students, faculty, retirees, and independent musicians from all educational and professional settings.
Research Topics Sought:
The Program Committee particularly encourages, and will give priority to, proposals that address music and social justice perspectives in the widest possible sense, including issues focused on music and diversity, sustainability, and global and/or civic engagement.
