The 5th Sankdlake Cup 1000 Plan Startup Contest
Silicon Valley Regional Competition
On Saturday June 18, SVC Venture Club Successfully hosted the 5th Sandlake Cup 1000 Plan Startup Contest - Silicon Valley Regional Competition. More than 500 guests, including 100+ investors, gathered at Santa Clara Convention Center to celebrate the latest and hottest tech innovations in Silicon Valley.  

Among the 12 startup teams that pitched at the event, Novuson Surgical, Xtalpi and SEM+ were selected as the top 3 winners and won the opportunity to enter the final competition to be held this coming fall in Suzhou, China.

The 12 teams came from across the U.S. and Canada. Their verticals include Smart Hardware, IoT, Biomedicine and Food Science & Technology etc. While their highly innovative technologies and excellent presentations impressed all of the audience, they gained a valuable experience sharing ideas with and getting feedback from fellow entrepreneurs and investors.

A neurochip with actual biological neurons to enable cognitive computation.
A talent recruiting platform, leveraging big data and machine learning to make recruiting more efficient.
Healthy protein sweeteners that can reduce concerns regarding blood sugar, insulin and weight.
A pharma/biotechnology company focused on advancing the drug discovery process.

Keynote speech by Mr. Feng Deng, Founder of Northern Light Venture Capital: Entrepreneurial Environment in China
The event built a bridge between the two prosperous entrepreneurial regions: Silicon Valley and Suzhou. It served as a great platform for entrepreneurs, investors, experts and talents from all across North America and China. While the judges and other VIP investors were impressed by the quality of the participating startups' projects, all of the audience were engaged throughout the event watching pitches, interacting with startups at their booths and trying out their products, and participating in a fun raffle.

With all of the support from its partners, SVC Venture Club was thrilled to bring together U.S.-China startups and investors through this event. There is no doubt that future entrepreneurial collaborations between China and the U.S. will expand, enhance and diversify.
