John McCain Leads U.S. Senate Republican Primary Race

(Phoenix, AZ) – A recent poll commissioned by Data Orbital for the U.S. Senate Republican primary shows that John McCain, senior senator and former GOP presidential candidate, will cruise to an easy victory.

Data Orbital, a Phoenix based consulting firm, announced today the results of a recent survey conducted on likely Republican primary election voters in Arizona. The poll showed Senator McCain leading by 21% over Kelli Ward, with only 17% of voters undecided.

The survey's head to head results are below:

 McCain  50%
 Ward   29%
 Van Steenwyk  4%
 Undecided  17%
 Total  100%

George Khalaf, consultant and pollster, issued the following statement: “This poll is further evidence to what we already knew: Arizona voters will stand behind our senior senator and his continued leadership. His experience in the U.S. Senate and commitment to our country is unmatched and voters are making it clear that they will not sacrifice tried and true leadership. In the most emphatic way, Arizona Republicans will be proudly nominating Senator McCain as the Republican U.S. Senate nominee.”




This live poll of 500 likely primary election voters in Arizona has a margin of error at plus or minus 4.4 percent, with a 95 percent confidence interval. Respondents were weighted on a number of different demographic figures based off previous voter turnout and responses were 50/50 cell phones and landlines. Demographic data from the poll can be found here.
