Summer in Full Swing

Hard to believe we are already into September.
Not sure where the summer has gone but still hanging onto it until the 23rd.

The nights here in Maine are already getting cooler than normal, not too happy about that, but the days are fine so I won't complain.

A Quick Glance Back - July

July started it all but seems like that was many months ago.

Had some fun painting around the town of Camden.

4th of July 12" x 16" Oil on Linen Panel

River Ducks  12" x 16" Oil on Linen Panel

Dropped off Westen my youngest at Goldrush Basketball Camp at Colby College in Waterville, ME. Had a delightful surprise while visiting the Museum there.

Low and behold they have four Sargent paintings!
Plus a host of other wonderful pieces.

Plus a beautiful William Merit Chase.

As well as a few etchings by Whistler.

Workshop in Haverhill NH

I had a delightful workshop through the Gibson House in Haverhill NH. Only 8 rooms in the B & B so only 8 spots available which obviously made for a smaller and more intimate class.

A big thank you to Marty and his wife Susie for their wonderful hospitality!

Great group of folks and really enjoyed the intimacy of it. We started our day together and ended it together. Rather enjoyable!

Had a little time to fish with the boys before heading off to Castine for their Plein Air Event.

First time visiting Castine which was a delightful laid back little community.
A fellow painter and dear friend Kirk McBride and I painted up the town.
Really enjoyed Eaton's Boatyard!

A Maine Morning Classic 12" x 16" Oil on Linen Panel

Did not expect to see Wisconsin Cheese Bites available on the Menu Board in Castine of all places but . . .

A couple of kids birthdays in August so that is usually my stick around home month, keeping it local.

Port Clyde is always a favorite and was happy to finally meet Helga from Andrew Wyeth's fame as well as get a peak at NC Wyeth's summer home and studio.

Coastal Maine Art Workshop

Just finished up a week long workshop here in Maine that operates through Rockland.
Had a wonderful energetic and enthusiastic class and hit all of the good Maine places that would accommodate a larger class.

Port Clyde

Leave it to a painter to ignore a sign and paint anyway. : )

Rockland Boatyard

Should have had more shots but too busy chasing students around. : )
