The Sports Expo committee would like to thank all clubs involved in another successful 2017 Sports Expo and Sign-On Day. Thanks to our long-time major sponsor Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal and to our other sponsors Rio Tinto, Star 101.9FM, 4MK 1026AM and Sporting Wheelies & Disabled Association.
The community showed its love of sport by the attendance on the day, with clubs embracing the opportunity to promote their sport and club, active displays in the Rio Tinto Active Zone and fantastic participation in the Mascot Race.
We have received some great feedback for next year and hope to see you there in 2018.
A reminder for exhibitors to send through their questionnaires to Sport and Recreation by email.

Future use of community halls – Have your say!
Council recognises that in some areas community halls are crucial and are used frequently and for a variety of reasons. Council also recognises that in some areas community halls are under-utilised and we want to know why.
What can council do to make your local community hall more accessible and provide services you would like to access? You’re invited to complete an online survey to provide your feedback.
Visit www.connectingmackay.com.au before Friday, March 10 to have your say.
Alternatively, contact Community Engagement on 4961 9972 or email engagement@mackay.qld.gov.au.

Is your club prepared for the storm and cyclone season?
Storm and cyclone season is now upon us. So now is the time to ensure your contact lists are up-to-date, any computer files are backed up, you have scanned copies of any important documents such as insurance policies and your facilities are prepared and ready for the season.
You also need to ensure your own place of residence is prepared because you cannot be in two places at once.
