For many people, Thanksgiving is the kick-off to the holiday season and a big movie day. Just in time for the 2016 season, we’ve been working with National Amusements to rebrand their Lowell, MA location and modernize the interior and exterior of the building. Check out some of the high-end architectural way-finding signage shown for theater use.

Shopping Centers Prep for Black Friday

Movie theaters aren't the only businesses geared up for heavy Thanksgiving traffic. Shopping center developers, too, know they need to help tenants capture point-of-sale traffic on Black Friday -  the busiest shopping day of the year.

An out-of-date center just won't draw the traffic it needs to. But rather than a complete renovation, sometimes the most effective - and affordable - solution is to replace or upgrade the existing signage.

Metro Sign & Awning frequently works with municipalities to modernize freestanding sign structures. This image from The Crossings is an excellent example of a retrofit of an existing sign frame that originally housed a manual reader-board and has since been retrofitted with a digital board to display shopping center and tenant promotions and notices.

One North of Boston - Focused on Function and Beauty, Inside and Out


Metro Sign & Awning recently completed the signage for One North, a residential Design/Build Project in Chelsea, MA. In keeping with its sister project, Maxwell's Green in Somerville, One North incorporates an industrial theme using CorTen for its interior and exterior brand. Metro Sign & Awning worked with RedGate Developers and Callahan Construction for the interior room ID, amenity, wayfinding, and "back of house" signage. This was the third collaboration between Metro Sign & Awning, RedGate Developers and Callahan Construction.

While the exterior signage will weather and develop a patina over time, our fabricators "weathered" the interior CorTen to its "rusted" state by using a mixture to initiate the patina process and then adding a clear coat to stabilize the metal for installation.
